Viljoen familyKootjie and Isa Viljoen, Catherien and the twins Danielle and Phillip live on this working farm, 9 km from the quaint and romantic village of Greyton.

Oewerzicht is a fully operational farm, harvesting apples, pears, grapes from January to April. The rest of the farm consists of rolling wheat lands, large flocks of sheep and if you are lucky, you’ll also see a herd of Reebok roaming freely on the farm.

Birdwatchers will also be delighted to see, amongst other, blue cranes, secretary birds, and large flocks of guinea fowl.

Guests are welcome to hike the trails on the farm or bring mountain bikes along to enjoy the farm. Bikes can also be rented in the village.

Viljoen FamilyChildren will have a wonderful time on the farm with its stretch-out lawns, and guests are welcome to bring their well-behaved dogs (and other pets?) along. The owners’ child-friendly Boxer, Kobus and the English Bulldog puppy, Sophie love popping in and saying hallo to guests visiting the farm.

Oewerzicht produced the first wine in the Greyton valley, back in 2002. The unique Greyton terroir is reflected in the berry flavoured, easy drinking Cabernet Sauvignon. Owner Kootjie Viljoen has a passion for good wine and regards making wine a hobby. The Oewerzicht Cabernet Sauvignon 2003 is currently for sale on the farm at R45 a bottle.

Guests can also buy a variety of home-made jams from Isa’s kitchen at R15 a jar.
